GOT TO LOVE ART JOURNALING
Don't know when and if the kiddos will reach this level but they are thoroughly enjoying their creative exploration at this point.
While I intend to write a detailed post of our first Art Journaling experience, here are some sneak peaks from their Art Journals .

Ball Painting and More
CHANNELIZING ENERGIES WITH COLORFUL FUN
Got the idea from Rawdah tul Ilm, I really liked using this idea when the Lil ones were feeling quite energetic but I needed them to be not so rowdy. When we sat down to do we turned it into a lot of eploring and experimenting. Lil Muallim # 2 and LIl Muaallimah thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Both my little ones LOVED rattling the box turn by turn.
OTHER THINGS WE USED
Lil Muallimah # 2 especially liked predicting what the end result might look like, based on how he thought the chosen objects would move. I was really impressed by his thought process Mashallah!
TA DAAAA!!!
After all this kids wanted to paint by themselves, I asked them if they wantedto learn some cool tricks. Check them out in our Painting Effects post.
Painting Effects
PAINTING WITH ODDS AND ENDS
Right after our Ball Painting fun, kids wanted to paint by themselves. I thought I would use this opportunity to teach my Lil Muallims unconventional ways of painting. I wanted them to have fun and think out of the box. They learnt special effects can be given by using other things besides the brush. The pictures are pretty self explanatory. Not the the utensil used to get the desired effect.
Check out the pictures below to see what we did.
LINED TEXTURE WITH STICKLE BLOCKS
MIXING COLORS WITH FINGERS AND MAKING RAYS WITH A FORK
USING A PLASTIC TOY TREE TO GIVE FOLIAGE EFFECT
USING A FORK TO GIVE THE EFFECT OF GRASS
We had a lot of fun doing this.... in the end our play room was filled with papers spread to dry form both of our painting adventures that day!
